Overview
Princebuild was appointed by Landmarc to deliver the full roof replacement of Building 9A at Wretham Camp. The project formed part of a wider programme of upgrades across similar facilities, with the primary objective of resolving ongoing leaks and bringing the building in line with the performance and specification of recently refurbished kitchens across other sites.

Scope of Work
The project involved the complete removal and replacement of the existing roof structure and associated systems to the kitchen and dining facility.

Key elements of the works included:

• Installation of safe access systems, including scaffolding and perimeter protection
• Protection of internal equipment throughout the works
• Isolation and removal of existing roof services, including LPG, electrical and water systems
• Full strip-out and disposal of existing roof coverings and materials
• Preparation of the roof structure to meet manufacturer requirements for a 20-year lifespan
• Installation of a new insulated roofing system, complete with all trims and fittings
• Reinstatement and weatherproofing of all ventilation and service openings
• Reconnection and commissioning of services, including insulation of pipework
• Full testing and certification upon completion
• Installation of a new handrail system to improve safe access
• Provision of all O&M manuals, health and safety documentation, and waste records

Additional works were undertaken during the project to address further electrical improvements identified prior to final sign-off, ensuring the building met all required standards.

Summary
The project was completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction, delivering a modern, durable roofing system that resolves previous issues and enhances the long-term performance of the building.

Strong communication between Princebuild, Landmarc and the wider supply chain was a key factor in the smooth delivery of the scheme. Variations and additional works were managed transparently, with clear client engagement throughout.

The completed project provides the client with a reliable, watertight roofing solution aligned with upgrades across the wider estate, supporting improved building performance and reduced maintenance requirements moving forward.
