We are really pleased to announce that, after achieving a full marks score of 45/45, our Waitrose Pontprennau project has been selected for the National Site Awards 2026 by the Considerate Constructors Scheme. This is a fantastic achievement and a real credit to the team working on site.
As part of this, we will find out whether the site has been awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze at the CCS Awards event being held in Manchester this March, which we are very much looking forward to attending.
The site was monitored through an on site visit, supported by further evidence provided by our Site Manager, Craig Morgan. The report recognised that Princebuild undertakes a wide range of similar projects and that our processes and systems are well established to meet the specific requirements of these types of sites.
The feedback highlights our continued commitment to ensuring our works have as low an impact as reasonably possible on the surrounding environment, the travelling public and the local community. The CCS checklist was used to assess the project, with very positive findings across all key areas.
Respect the Community
The project team was praised for being positively engaged with the local community. Through strong links with the client, there are good relationships with local parties and organisations. A particular piece of good practice noted was the system in place to donate any removed existing equipment to community good causes, supporting others while reducing waste.
Protect the Environment
The project has strong environmental and sustainability procedures in place that help to maintain and enhance the existing site environment, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to responsible construction.
Value their workforce and care about safety.
The report also recognised that the project has well considered policies and procedures that show genuine care for the welfare and safety of the workforce.
