Princebuild are proud to have been named as finalists in two categories at the Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards 2025, Large Business of the Year and Business in the Community. This recognition highlights both our continued growth and operational excellence, as well as our ongoing commitment to our people and the communities we serve.
Founded in 1971, Princebuild has grown from a small local contractor into one of Cambridgeshire’s largest privately owned construction companies. In 2025, our turnover across multiple divisions will exceed £88 million, reflecting significant year on year growth, strong financial management, and a diversified portfolio of projects. As a family-run business, we combine the experience of our founding families with the expertise of professional managers who have progressed through the company.
Our people are at the heart of our success. Over 220 staff work across seven divisions, supported by structured training, apprenticeships, and development pathways that allow talent to flourish. Staff benefits, wellbeing initiatives, and long-service recognition help create a motivated and committed team, while our focus on safety, quality, and client care ensures we consistently deliver projects to a high standard.
Sustainability and the community are central to our ethos. Our Environmental Forum, ISO14001 accreditation, and Carbon Net Zero pathway demonstrate our commitment to green practices, while our community initiatives, including fundraising for good causes, sponsoring local grassroots teams, volunteering, and organising local radio competitions, highlight our dedication to giving back. Supporting our local area is embedded in the culture of our family business and aligns with our core values of Building, Sharing and Caring. From sponsoring professional sports teams, hosting charity initiatives like Blingo and encouraging our staff to run the Lincoln 10K to mental health support and aid trips to Ukraine, our team works hard to make a genuine difference. Peeby, our mascot, continues to bring visibility and fun to many of these efforts at local events.
This dual recognition is a credit to the commitment, effort, and passion of our staff and partners. We congratulate all fellow finalists and look forward to the awards evening on Thursday, 20th November 2025, at The Holiday Inn, Peterborough.
