Group Brand & Marketing Manager Carly Dadge has praised her children, Harry and Edward, after they chose to use their own pocket money to support Helping Our Ukrainian Friends (HOUF), showing that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
The idea came from Harry and Edward themselves, who wanted to help families in need and encourage others to get involved in supporting local and international causes. They spent their pocket money on essential food, pasta their favourite, which will then be donated to Helping Our Ukrainian Friends through Princebuild.
Harry explained their motivation, saying ‘It’s not just people in Ukraine that need it, it’s people here too. So please just spend £5 and donate to HOUF via Princebuild or to your local food bank. Donations are always needed and welcome.’
Their message highlights how accessible community support can be, with even small contributions helping to make a real difference to individuals and families facing hardship.
Carly said she is extremely proud of both children, adding that they are fully aware of the importance of giving back where possible. Their decision to use their own money to buy food donations reflects a growing understanding of community responsibility and compassion.
The initiative also reinforces the wider message that supporting food banks and charitable organisations does not require large donations, and that consistent small acts of generosity can have a lasting impact.
The donated items will go on to support HOUF’s ongoing work in distributing essential supplies to those in need.
