Princebuild colleagues once again gave their time to support the local soup kitchen, with Carly Dadge, Group Brand & Marketing Manager, Trish Wilks, Maintenance Manager, and Megan Hawkes, Assistant Health & Safety Advisor, volunteering at the charity’s location on Dickens Street, Peterborough.
Demonstrating their commitment to supporting the local community, the trio volunteered on the bank holiday Monday, which also happened to be the hottest day of the year so far. Despite the soaring temperatures, they spent the evening helping to provide food, refreshments and a welcoming environment for those in need.
Speaking after the visit, Carly Dadge reflected on the experience:
‘Volunteering at the soup kitchen is always a humbling and rewarding experience. It was incredibly hot on the day, but that only reinforced how important the support provided by the volunteers and organisers is. Spending time with people, listening to their stories and offering a helping hand really puts things into perspective.
The soup kitchen provides far more than just a meal. It offers companionship, dignity and support to people who may be facing difficult circumstances. We were proud to represent Princebuild and play a small part in helping such a valuable community resource continue its work.’
The team agreed that it was a privilege to support the charity and witness first-hand the positive impact it has on the lives of local people. They praised the dedication of the regular volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure support is available to those who need it most.
Princebuild has a permanent volunteering slot with the soup kitchen, allowing colleagues from across the business to get involved and support this important community initiative. Volunteering continues to form a key part of the company’s wider social value commitments, helping to make a positive difference within the communities in which it operates.
Princebuild remains committed to supporting local causes and charitable organisations, with community engagement and volunteering playing an important role in the company’s values and culture.
