Andrew Richman, Executive Manager, and Carly Dadge, Group Brand & Marketing Manager, recently represented Princebuild at the Cambridge Forum for the Construction Industry’s Social Value Conference.

The event brought together industry leaders, public sector representatives and built environment professionals to explore how organisations can embed meaningful, measurable and lasting social value throughout the lifecycle of construction projects.

The conference focused on what social value looks like in practice, where it is created from design through to delivery and occupation, and how businesses can effectively demonstrate the positive impact they make. Discussions covered community wellbeing, economic opportunity, environmental sustainability, skills and education, and equality, highlighting the significant role the construction industry plays in creating stronger communities.

The event also featured presentations from industry experts including Richard Surma of AstraZeneca, alongside a keynote address from Paul Bristow, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, who spoke about the importance of social value from both a regional and policy perspective.

For Princebuild, social value has always been about more than simply delivering work. Whether it’s supporting local charities, investing in apprenticeships, engaging with schools, sponsoring grassroots sport, fundraising for community causes or creating employment opportunities, making a positive difference is embedded throughout the business.

Attending events such as this enables Princebuild to continue learning, sharing best practice and strengthening its approach, ensuring that every project delivers lasting benefits for clients, communities and future generations.
