Princebuild is proud to be supporting an inspiring young local fundraiser who is proving that big change can start with small actions.

Ten year old Bobby has launched his own drinks can recycling initiative to raise money for local charities and has asked for Princebuild’s support in helping collect empty cans across the business.

What makes Bobby’s story even more impressive is that the entire initiative was his own idea. He created the campaign himself, designed the posters without any assistance and set himself a simple but powerful mission to make a difference in his local community without asking people for money.

Instead, Bobby encourages people to donate their empty drinks cans, helping both local charities and the environment at the same time.

From his very first collection, Bobby raised £15, using every penny to purchase essential food items including tins, pasta and rice, which he personally delivered to a local food bank.

Since then, his determination has seen him support a number of worthy causes, including Sue Ryder, local food banks, the Air Ambulance, Flag Fen’s fundraising appeal and other community causes. With support from family and friends, he even achieved his ambitious goal of filling an entire van with cans in just six weeks.

Despite aluminium prices dropping in recent months, Bobby has remained committed to his fundraising efforts, understanding that every can collected still contributes to helping others.

Princebuild teams across the business will now be collecting empty drinks cans to help Bobby continue his fantastic work, and we’d love the wider community to get involved too. If you would like to donate your cans and support Bobby’s amazing efforts, please drop them off at your nearest Princebuild branch.

This is a brilliant example of community spirit, determination and kindness in action, and we’re delighted to play a small part in supporting Bobby’s incredible efforts.
