Last month, we were delighted to welcome Paul Andrews, Ben Fowler, Jennifer Leeder and Emma Hannon to Princebuild as part of the #FamilyBizRoadTrip2026.
The visit brought together a number of family members actively involved in the business, making it a fantastic opportunity to reflect on Princebuild’s journey as a founding family business and to discuss the important role family values continue to play in shaping our future.
Joining the discussion were our CEO, Matthew Pudney, Directors Mark Asplin, Dale Asplin and Jon Pudney, Executive Managers George Asplin and Dan Asplin, alongside Graduate Finance and Director’s Assistant Aayliah Pudney. It was particularly special to have so many working family members in one room, sharing insights into the history of the business, our continued growth and the succession planning that is helping lay strong foundations for the next stage of Princebuild’s journey.
Founded in 1971, Princebuild has grown from a local family-run business into a multi-disciplined national construction and maintenance company with a turnover of approximately £90 million and a team of 160 staff. While much has evolved over the years, our commitment to family values, doing business the right way and giving back to the communities we serve remains at the heart of everything we do.
The visit also gave us the chance to reflect on how many of our valued customers are family businesses themselves, with shared values, long-term thinking and strong community connections.
Adding to the excitement, the visit served as a timely reminder that Princebuild is once again a finalist in the National Family Business Awards, recognition we are incredibly proud of.
Speaking following the visit, Paul Andrews described Princebuild as ‘another fantastic example of a great British family business’ and highlighted the company’s strong community impact, commitment to doing business the right way and clear focus on the future.
We’d like to thank Family Business United and the rest of the team for taking the time to visit us as part of this year’s road trip. It was a pleasure to share our story and celebrate the strength of family business together.
