As part of Princebuild’s 50 year anniversary celebrations a family fun day event was held at the end of June at Ferry Meadows in the heart of Peterborough.
The event was open to all employees and their families and provided a full day of activities and entertainment in the beautiful surroundings of one of the areas largest country parks.
Activities included archery, climbing, paddle boarding, kayaking, bell boat racing and a chance to have a leisurely trip around the lake on a swan pedalo all provided by Nene Outdoors. Additional activities included two huge games of rounders, a bouncy castle, a basket ball challenge, face painting, a raffle and children’s entertainment from Jason Fenn Magic. For the less energetic the Lakeside terrace made a perfect vantage point to take in the lovely surroundings and cheer on those taking part in the water activities.
Food and drink were provided throughout the day, with a BBQ lunch and an evening meal provided by Lakeside Kitchen and Bar as well as the all important 50th anniversary cake!
For the more adventurous there was also the chance to stay overnight in campsite in either a pre erected bell tent or in their own tents with breakfast provided the following morning.
All attendees received a goodie bag, which included a special 50th Anniversary Princebuild t-shirt. The t-shirts have proven very popular and were worn throughout the day, they have formed a big part of our anniversary fundraising having being sponsored by sub-contractors and suppliers to raise over £10,000.
Almost 200 Princebuild team members and their families took part in the event, taking advantage of the lovely weather and the chance to try some new activities. It is very much hoped that this can be developed into an annual event for the company.
