Prime Minister opens brand new Parish Hall in Chipping Norton

The recently completed internal fit out of Enstone Parish Hall was opened by Prime Minister David Cameron, who is also the MP for Witney on 27th November.

The Hall was built under a section 106 planning gain agreement as part of The Paddocks Housing development in Enstone, Chipping Norton and replaces a corrugated iron building built in 1922.

The project consisted of a full internal fit out, from the levelling of floors to the installation of solid oak column encasements in the main hall. A professional kitchen was also installed and specialist sports flooring and carpets were laid throughout. Other finishes included decorating, tiling and the installation of lighting along with the fitting of toilets and associated facilities.

The project was a challenge from the start with the programme being reduced from eight weeks to six, and with anopening by the Prime Minister to work towards, it was imperative that all deadlines were met. Thankfully, through the flexibility of our team working extra time through the week and into the weekends, the hall was completed on time ready for Mr Cameron to open.

The hard work was however well worth it, seeing the Prime Minister open the building was very rewarding for the project team and it gave a great boost to the community who are now working hard on fundraising to purchase additional equipment for the hall such as a moveable stage and digital equipment which will complete their new resource.

For more information about the opening of the Hall see the article on the Oxford Mail’s website or see a video of David Cameron opening the hall here.
