We are pleased to announce that we have again been recognised for our environmental awareness and have been awarded the highest ‘Green Level’ accreditation by Investors in the Environment.

Investors in the Environment (iiE) is a nationwide environmental accreditation scheme and is designed to help businesses improve their energy efficiency and reduce their environmental impact. The Accreditation is supported and endorsed locally by organisations including Peterborough City Council, the Environment Capital Partnership and Peterborough Environment City Trust.

To achieve the accreditation Princebuild has been building on the good work already done and really striving to be as green as possible. The five key achievements for the awards included:

• Offsetting 166.2 tonnes of Carbon in 2015 – an increase of 420% on 2014 figures
• Adding bird boxes, squirrel homes and feeding stations to our on-site greenbelt to create an area of conservation
• Overall gas usage reduced by over 45% on 2014 figures
• Promoting cycling and cycle awareness for drivers to our staff, as well as sponsoring a local charity cycle ride
• In house training delivered to almost 70 staff to highlight the impact our industry has on the environment and how they can help to reduce this

The award was presented at the annual iiE Awards night in Peterborough which saw many local and regional businesses recognised for their commitment to a greener way of doing business.
