Princebuild is delighted to see the Morrisons store at Pinchbeck, gain a prestigious academy status following a £500,000 makeover carried out by its Retail Construction Division.

The refit of the store’s fresh food offering includes a bigger choice of fruit and vegetables, the latest technology and a new flower shop. The new-look also gives shoppers the chance to see bread and sausages being made with the creation of a new dough table in front of the bakery and an improved butchers’ counter.

As a result, the supermarket has become a Craft Skills Academy where staff can be trained in food and wine matching, butchery and baking.

For the family-owned company, Princebuild, the fresh format refit is one of 16 being carried out nationally for the supermarket giant, Morrisons

Director, Mark Asplin, said: “We are really pleased for Morrisons, as the new academy status means shoppers and employees alike will benefit from the refit works which combines fresh choice and ideas with skills and technology”.

“The work we undertook entailed meticulous planning and timing as the works had to be completed within three weeks and we were only able to carry out the works at night. We also had to ensure that the working areas were cleaned down, stocked and ready for trading each day to minimise any disruption to the customers and staff.”
