Princebuild runners brave the heat to raise £4,000 for charity.

29 Princebuild team members took on the Lincoln 10k to raise funds for The NSPCC and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event was originally scheduled for early March but heavy snow meant it was unsafe to run and it was put back to the 1st July, which turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year!

The route was lined with supporters, some of whom even brought out their garden hoses and ice pops to help keep the runners cool. There really was a great atmosphere and all of the runners enjoyed taking part and crossing the finish line in the shade of the historic cathedral.

Despite the challenging conditions, the whole team did fantastically well with some personal bests being achieved and several runners completing the distance for the very first time.

Several suppliers and sub-contractors very kindly sponsored the race vests, which were worn with pride both on the day and in training, a couple even made it to the Edinburgh marathon! Thanks go to Beecal Electrical, Premiair, Jensen Security, Energycell, Curo, HMP, Kamarin Computers, MCS Interiors, Mindray, King of Flooring and John Day Decorators for the fantastic support of the team, as well as to everyone who sponsored the team and supported on the day.

Sponsor money is still coming in and it is hoped that the £4,000 mark can be topped to be split between the two charities.

Donations can still be made at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PrincebuildLincoln10k and more information on the Lincoln 10k, along with the results can be found on the run for all website.
