New College Stamford was a hive of activity on the 7th and 8th November as young people from across the region enjoyed taking part in a construction careers taster event.
The event which is held annually at New College Stamford is organised by the SLGTA and provides the perfect opportunity for young people to learn about the careers available in the construction industry.
Over the two days almost 600 young people attended the event from primary and secondary schools across the region. 21 businesses and organisations put on a selection of have-a-go activities to promote the wide range of construction careers which are available.
Eleven Princebuild and Princeenergy employees were involved over the two days, assisting in delivering activities and leading their own have-a-go sessions in areas such as site safety, project management, renewables and painting and decorating. Company HR Manager Barbara Mehew was also instrumental in putting the event together in her role as SLGTA chairman.
Princebuild also donated four trophies for school of the day and teacher of the day on each day.
