In a lovely display of community support, Mark Asplin, director and chair of Maxey Community Association (MCA), along with Karen Pike, the Treasurer of MCA, visited the Amazon Children’s Ward at Peterborough City Hospital earlier last week to present a generous donation.

The MCA, a charitable organisation dedicated to the upkeep and management of Maxey Village Hall, has been actively involved in organising events and facilitating the hall’s rental throughout the year. Additionally, they make it a point to arrange complimentary events for the pensioners in the village.

The donation of £1,026 was the result of a festive Santa sleigh ride through the village in December. The community rallied together, contributing a total of £513 for the Amazon Children’s Ward at Peterborough City Hospital during this event. The fundraising effort didn’t stop there, as we graciously matched the funds raised by MCA.

Mark Asplin, who not only serves as a director but also holds the position of chair within the MCA, expressed his gratitude for the community’s involvement in making this donation possible. He highlighted the importance of supporting local healthcare facilities.

Karen Pike, the Treasurer of MCA, shared her appreciation for the community’s dedication to giving back. It’s great to see how our community comes together to support those in need. The success of this fundraising effort truly reflects the generosity of the residents of Maxey and Princebuild.

The Amazon Children’s Ward at Peterborough City Hospital provides crucial healthcare services, and the funds donated by us and MCA will contribute to enhancing patient care and support within the facility. Our directors and members of MCA are thrilled to have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the local healthcare system and express their thanks to everyone who participated in the Santa sleigh ride and contributed to this donation.
