We are pleased to announce that the Frog Racing World Championship held on 22nd June at the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium raised an amazing £11,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The weather was perfect for the event and 36 teams battled it out to be crowned the World Frog Racing Champions. After a hard fought contest it was ABM Consultancy who took the crown with Terry Jackson Plastering finishing in runners up spot.

During the evening’s wacky races there was also a feature mascot race, which saw some unusual characters, including a frog, a builder, rabbits and even a giant mug sprinting across the grass at the stadium. It was a close race but clearly the greyhound stadium’s mascot had been putting in a little extra training and crossed the line first in good style.

There was also a raffle on the night, with a top prize of tickets to a London show, tote betting on all of the races and a lucky programme draw. In addition there was plenty for the younger supporters to enjoy with face painting being very popular as well as the Princebuild speed kick competition.

Princebuild have been supporting the event for many years, with many staff members on the Frog Racing committee or helping with the organisation and running of the event.

Dale Asplin, Director of Princebuild and chairman of the Frog Racing Committee commented “On behalf of the organisers I would like to thank everyone who helps to make the event a success. From the sponsors, to the teams taking part, to the small army of people who pitch in to make sure everything runs smoothly during the event.

“This includes the many staff from Princebuild, Princeenergy and Princeclean who help to organise the event and give up their time to support the evening.

“Also to all those who attended the event, we hope you enjoyed the evening and thank you for helping us to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
