Princebuild invests in Construction Ambassador Course

Princebuild’s Company Human Resource Manager, Barbara Mehew, recently attended a Construction Ambassador course run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).

Alongside seven other local employers Barbara took part in a range of activities focusing on presentations to young people, understanding education today and information about careers in construction.

Construction Ambassadors are selected to be the face of the industry, to motivate young people and to help them see the opportunities a career in construction can offer. Ambassadors attend careers events and activities throughout the year offering advice and mentoring to young people whilst promoting the construction industry.

Rhian Lawton from CITB said: “This course is designed for anyone working in the construction industry that is passionate about their work and happy to share their experiences with young people to help them consider the industry as a career choice. Construction Ambassadors are really important in visiting schools, as it allows us to show the ‘real’ side of the industry.”

At Princebuild we understand how important it is to get young people involved in our industry, they are our future and it is vital that they are aware of the opportunities that construction can offer them. We are always looking for ways we be actively involved in the communities we work in and we hope that with the aid of our construction ambassador we can help young people to make the right choices for their future careers.
