Positive about disability - The Two Ticks symbol
The 'two ticks' positive about disability symbol has been awarded to us by Jobcentre Plus because we have made commitments to employ, keep and develop the abilities of disabled staff.
The five commitments
We have made the following five commitments regarding recruitment, training, retention, consultation and disability awareness:
- To interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and to consider them on their abilities
- To discuss with disabled employees, at any time but at least once a year, what both parties can do to make sure disabled employees can develop and use their abilities
- To make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment
- To take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make these commitments work
- To review these commitments each year and assess what has been achieved, plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Jobcentre Plus know about progress and future plans.
Competent Persons Schemes for Plumbers
The Competent Persons Scheme was introduced by the Department for Levelling Up Housing & Communities, to enable companies to self-certify plumbing and heating works that fall under the scope of Building Regulations. Self certification provides a much more cost effective route compared with the alternative of notifying work through local building control bodies.
Anglianwater approved plumber
WaterSafe is a free online search facility funded by the water industry to help customers find competent and qualified plumbers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
It is a national accreditation body which checks and approves businesses and their plumbers to give customers reassurance about the tradesmen undertaking the work for them. Please note it's the individual plumbers that are approved within an organisation so you'll need to check the company link in Watersafe, then under "Recognised Plumbers".
It aims to raise plumbing standards by helping customers find the nearest qualified plumbing and heating professionals.
Dewpoint Accredited
The UK’s only City & Guilds Accredited Training in Water Damage Restoration, Fire and Smoke Damage Restoration and Mould Remediation for Office Based staff and Field based Operatives within the housing and Insurance Industry.
Damage management and housing professionals, at all levels, regardless of experience, are personally accountable for their own actions and omissions within their profession and practice and must always be able to justify their decisions, whilst acting lawfully, whether those laws relate to professional practice or personal life.
