Proudly Supporting Helping Our Ukrainian Friends
At Princebuild, we believe in extending a helping hand wherever it’s needed most. We’ve been proud to support the inspiring efforts of “Helping Our Ukrainian Friends,” a community dedicated to providing essential aid to Ukraine amidst the ongoing crisis. “Helping Our Ukrainian Friends” is a community born from bonds of friendship forged on the football field. The group’s origins trace back to 2012, when four of its members met in Donetsk during the Euros as England played Ukraine. Today, this network spans across England, Poland, and Ukraine, uniting people from Sheffield, Dronfield, Peterborough, Stamford, Surrey, Gliwice, Rivne, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Kyiv. What began as a friendship has evolved into a powerful force for good, providing much-needed support to Ukrainian communities affected by the invasion. Since March 2022, “Helping Our Ukrainian Friends” has organised twelve aid deliveries. These efforts began with a critical mission to the Kyiv Heart Institute during the initial stages of the invasion, ensuring vital medical supplies reached those in desperate need. The commitment has only grown since then, with the UK team coordinating with Polish and Ukrainian counterparts to deliver over 50 tonnes of aid. This includes 37 generators, essential power sources for communities facing power shortages, and thousands of lights, batteries, camping stoves, and tourniquets.
In 2023, we joined hands with “Helping Our Ukrainian Friends” to support their Shoebox Appeal. This initiative collected and delivered essential items and heartfelt gifts to Ukrainian children and families affected by the conflict. Some of our directors and team members were directly involved in preparing these boxes, ensuring they were filled with not just necessities but also tokens of hope and solidarity. We collected approximately 1,000 Easter boxes and raised almost £20,000. Princebuild Directors Mark and Dale Asplin drove two of the vans we supplied for the journey to the Ukrainian border.
Beyond this, our staff, along with friends and family, came together to run the Lincoln 10K in 2024. This event was more than a fitness challenge; it was a fundraiser that succeeded in raising a staggering £32,000. The funds were instrumental in delivering crucial aid to those on the front lines, helping to provide medical supplies, generators, and everyday essentials. Once again, Princebuild Directors Mark and Dale Asplin drove two of the vans we supplied for the journey to the Ukrainian border.
