Following on from successful project completions at Charing Cross Hospital, Princebuild were successful in tendering for further work with the Imperial College NHS Trust and secured a large project at Hammersmith Hospital to refurbish the outpatients department.
The project involved implementing many changes in both the outpatient and renal departments. Partitions were demolished between several areas to create one large open plan waiting area, this replaces the smaller segmented waiting areas that had previously been in use and brings all areas of the outpatient department together.
New consultation rooms were created along with a new main reception area and a renal department reception area, both of which were fitted with bespoke desks.
New ceilings, flooring, glazed curtain walling and PVC wrapped doors were fitted in all areas along with lighting and bespoke Integrated Plumbing systems. All materials and methods used had to meet Government HTMs (Health Technical Memoranda) in order to comply with the hospitals Infectious Control Regulations.
This Project is one of the most challenging hospital assignments that Princebuild has completed to date. All works were carried out in a live working environment requiring a strategically phased approach to ensure minimal disturbance to the patients and the Hospital’s critical operating procedures.
Due to the extent of the work, it was challenging to adhere to the strict noise and working restrictions placed on the site, despite this the project was delivered on time and within budget.
