Overview
We successfully completed a refurbishment of Laurel Dean Care Home in London for Care UK, delivering a transformed and modernised facility. The care home, originally opened in 2003, required significant upgrades to enhance the living experience for residents and improve staff facilities. Despite a 10-day delay during the project due to a norovirus outbreak, the project was completed smoothly and on time, with our team maintaining the highest level of respect and sensitivity, especially during difficult moments.
Scope of Work
The refurbishment covered a wide range of improvements, ensuring both functional upgrades and aesthetic enhancements, including:
- New brighter lounges to create a more welcoming and comfortable environment.
- New carpets and full decoration in corridors for a fresh and inviting atmosphere.
- Refurbished kitchen and dining areas to improve meal preparation and dining experiences.
- Addition of an extra cinema room on the top floor, utilising previously unused space for residents’ entertainment.
- Installation of new en-suites in all resident rooms, ensuring comfort and convenience.
- Creation of a new coffee area in an underutilised space to encourage social interaction.
- Upgraded communal toilets for improved hygiene and accessibility.
- New offices to enhance operational efficiency.
- New Hairdressing Salon: Fitted with a rise-and-fall sink for accessibility and ease of use.
- Renovated staff room with a fully equipped kitchen to support staff well-being.
- Installation of new lighting, stair treads, and general decorative upgrades to enhance safety and aesthetics.
