Overview
Princebuild UK (PBUK) was instructed by Workman LLP to carry out unit amalgamation works across Units 10–12 at The Glades. Acting as both Principal Contractor and Principal Designer under CDM regulations, PBUK delivered a comprehensive package of enabling and compliance works within a tight programme to prepare the space for the incoming retailer.
Scope of Work
- Installed temporary fire-rated hoarding to the shop front entrances.
- Completed a full strip-out of the former GAME retail unit (Unit 12).
- Formed a new two-hour fire-rated partition to the perimeter wall separating the empty unit from a live trading store.
- Installed new screed and self-levelling compound across the newly amalgamated unit.
- Provided passive fire protection throughout the unit following completion of the strip-out.
- Installed new FD60 metal door sets.
- Replaced mall tiles in the landlord areas where the former shopfronts were removed.
Summary
Through careful coordination and adherence to fire safety requirements, PBUK successfully delivered the amalgamation works within the nine-week programme. The unit was handed over on the agreed date, ready for the new retailer to begin their fit-out later in the month.
