Overview
The Waitrose & Partners store in Daventry, originally built 50 years ago, underwent a comprehensive refurbishment aimed at modernising its layout and enhancing the overall shopping experience. The project focused on improving key sections of the store, from the bakery and patisserie to the beers, wines, and spirits areas. These upgrades not only improved the aesthetic appeal but also increased efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Scope of Work
The project involved the removal of the existing patisserie counter and the installation of new bakery fixtures and powered cabinets to showcase pastries and cakes. In the beers, wines, and spirits area, outdated signage was replaced, the section received a fresh coat of Sage green paint, and the shelving layout was revamped. A new Food-to-Go bay was installed, replacing the existing coffee machine to optimise space and service. Additionally, a comprehensive redesign of the store’s shelving improved efficiency and enhanced the shopping experience. The store also saw new decorations on several elevations, as well as upgrades to the CCTV system and lighting adjustments to complement the new layout.

The renovation of Waitrose Daventry was a successful transformation of a 50-year-old store into a refreshed and modern shopping space. With supportive partners and a smooth execution process, the project delivered an upgraded store that better serves customers while maintaining the high standards of the Waitrose brand.
