Michelle Baker, wife of Director Paul Baker, is a volunteer at the Peterborough Soup Kitchen, distributing over 78 selection boxes to individuals visiting the facility. Representing Princebuild, Michelle’s generous contribution was warmly received by the attendees.

Established in 1983, the Peterborough Soup Kitchen has been dedicated to feeding the homeless and disadvantaged in the community. Operating 52 weeks a year, seven days a week, the organisation serves hot soup, food, and drinks from its specially adapted serving van at Acland Street Car Park. Serving times are Monday to Friday from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The kitchen relies entirely on a team of approximately 200 volunteers, with no paid staff, who collectively contribute over 7,662 hours annually. On average, they serve between 35 to 60 people each day.

The Peterborough Soup Kitchen continues to play a vital role in supporting the city’s homeless and disadvantaged populations, relying on the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors to sustain its operations.
