Director Matthew Pudney and Human Resources Support Manager Cheryl Browne recently attended a session at the House Project in Peterborough to help young adults develop essential interview techniques, gain advice, and build their confidence. This session was designed to prepare them for mock interviews we hosted at our head office in Peterborough the following week, giving them valuable experience in what can often be a daunting process, especially for a first interview.
The session at the House Project was very well received, with young people engaging positively and showing a real willingness to learn.
The following week, the mock interviews took place at our offices and proved to be a great success. Cheryl shared, “It was incredibly rewarding to support young people just starting out. We thoroughly enjoyed the mock interviews as they were open to our feedback, eager to grow, and truly stepped out of their comfort zones. Not only that, they excelled in doing so! We were all very impressed.”
George, Project Facilitator at The House Project said “As always it was brilliant to have Princebuild deliver an employment workshop to our care experienced young people at Peterborough City Council. Often, young people in care are limited in opportunities, advice and guidance meaning when PrinceBuild can support in can be empowering, changing stigma and driving narratuive change.
Further to this, we had a young person attend Princebuild for a mock interview, he was beaming with pride, was able to engage with Cheryl and Matthew in the office and gained invaluable experience and insight. Thanks again to the guys at Princebuild.”
This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting young people in our community as they take their first steps into the world of work.
