Overview
Princebuild has embarked on a transformative 30-week project in Wragby, Lincolnshire, giving the former Co-op building a much-needed revival after it had stood empty for over 10 years. Originally part of the old fire station complex, the site is now being reimagined into a functional, modern space that will include a new retail unit and two high-specification residential flats.
Scope of Works
The project involves a complete strip-out of the existing building, including the safe removal of asbestos, before starting full refurbishment works. The new layout will feature:
- A new commercial shop unit for Lincolnshire Co-op
- Two newly constructed residential flats
- New floors throughout
- Fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms
- Complete rewiring of the building
- Major roof repairs and renovation
The design aims to blend modern convenience with the preservation of the building’s character and location within the town centre.
Progress to Date
With work starting on 14th October 2024, the site is already well underway:
Demolition and asbestos removal are complete
Internal rendering is finished in Commercial Unit 1
Structural steels are being shot blasted this week, with fire protection application planned for next week
Scaffolding is now fully erected, ready for roof works to commence
Insulation installation has also begun
Overview
Upon completion in May 2025, the project will not only restore a long-neglected part of Wragby but also bring valuable amenities and housing to the area. The transformation will contribute to the town’s regeneration, delivering both social and economic benefits.
This project reflects Princebuild’s ongoing commitment to quality, community impact, and the regeneration of important local spaces.
